Cleveland Police have said the alleged incident took place on Tuesday, July 26, when a man in his seventies was assaulted and had cash stolen in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.
A 57-year-old man has been charged with robbery following the incident.
He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Friday, July 29.
