The activity was carried out in response to reports and complaints from rural communities of damage to crops from off-road vehicles which has resulted in financial loss, in addition to anti-social behaviour.

Complaints had also been received by police from residents unable to enjoy exercise within Summerhill Park due to off-road vehicles and groups causing anti-social behaviour, including starting fires.

The actions were carried out under the banner of Operation Endurance, which is dedicated to tackling off-road vehicles and associated anti-social behaviour.

Sergeant Dave Lester said: “We seek to provide an effective response to concerns raised by our communities.
