Man suffered head injuries in suspected assault near Hartlepool pub, police confirm

The 25-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital with a head injury following the assault near the Gillen Arms, off Clavering Road.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault to come forward.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “At 10.40pm on Saturday, July 4, police were called by our ambulance service colleagues who were outside the Gillen Arms Public House in Clavering, treating a man who had suffered a head injury after being assaulted.

“The 25 year old was taken for further treatment at the University Hospital of North Tees and a report of common assault been recorded.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number, quoting Event 108006.”
