Michael Phillips murder trial: Jury begin to hear evidence as hearing enters sixth day

The jury in the trial of a Hartlepool man is starting to hear evidence on its sixth day.

Michael Phillips, 39, died after sustaining multiple injuries at a house in the town’s Rydal Street on Monday, June 10, 2019, following a disturbance.

Their trial started on Tuesday, January 14, beginning in full the next day, and is expected to last between four and five weeks.

It has already heard the evidence of medical professionals, including a pathologist, and police officers and staff who worked on their investigation.
