Mum of three admitted drug driving after being stopped by police and found with cocaine in her system

Charlotte Fielding, 26, pleaded guilty to two charges of drug driving when she appeared before Teesside Magistrates’ Court.

The charge was that on September 14 last year she was driving a Vauxhall Grandland X on Roscoe Road, Billingham, and when tested was found to have a quantity of cocaine and benzoylecgonine in her system which was above the legal limit.

David Dedman, defending, said, Fielding, who has never been before the courts before, is a mum of three young children, aged six, three and two.

He said: “She said she had had the drugs some time previously and thought she would be ok to drive.”

Fielding, of Roscoe Road, Billingham, who is unemployed and claims Universal Credit, was fined £120 and ordered to pay £40 costs and a £32 victim surcharge. She was also banned from driving for 12 months.
