Plant machinery worth up to £60,000 stolen from Hartlepool sports club's ground

Early morning raiders have stolen building equipment worth tens of thousands of pounds while it was on the grounds of a Hartlepool sports club.

Cleveland Police say the kit, taken from West Hartlepool Rugby Club in Catcote Road in the town, was taken between 6am and 7am today, Tuesday, August 18.

The yellow Volvo mini digger and an orange Hamm Roller were taken from the premises during the burglary.

A force spokesperson said: “It is believed vehicles with trailers attached were used to transport the stolen items which are believed to be valued at between £40,000 to £60,000.

“Anyone with dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area or time of the incident or anyone who may have seen the items offered for sale is asked to contact officers from Hartlepool CID.”
