Police are appealing for a driver to come forward after a 14-year-old cyclist suffered minor injuries following a collision with a vehicle.

Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police have launched an appeal to find a Mercedes driver following a collision with a 14-year-old cyclist on Brougham Terrace near the junction of Raby Road around 8pm on Monday, March 15.

The boy suffered minor injuries to his arm, leg and head and the driver stopped and spoke to the cyclist before leaving after the boy said he was OK.

Officers are now seeking to find the driver of the White Mercedes following the incident.

In a statement online a Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police spokesperson said: “The driver stopped and spoke to the cyclist and left after the boy said he was ok. The boy had minor injuries to his arm, leg and head.

“We’d ask the driver to contact Acting Sgt Lee Benson of the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit via the 101 number, quoting ref 40799.”
