Police carry out Christmas drink drive checks in Hartlepool

On the morning of Saturday, December 21, Cleveland Police officers carried out drink driving checks on the A689 in Hartlepool as part of a national ongoing campaign.

The checks were carried out on the morning after 'Black Friday.’ It is well known that on this day, more people go out to enjoy the festivities.

Officers confirmed that no drivers were found to be over the limit during these roadside checks.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Officers were pleased that, of everyone who was stopped and took a roadside test, no one was found to be over the drink drive limit.”

Further checks are set to be carried out across Cleveland and Durham over the festive period as this campaign continues.
