Police dog Rocky assists in arrest after 'disturbance' at Hartlepool garage

A man was arrested by Cleveland Police following a ‘disturbance’ in Hartlepool – with the help of the force’s dog unit.

Police received reports of a disturbance at a car garage in Brenda Road, Hartlepool on Sunday, June 28.

It was reported to officers that a man was being monitored via CCTV attempting to gain access into vehicles on the premises.

Pc Rashad attended the scene – accompanied by police dog Rocky – and a 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of four offences.

In a statement on social media on Tuesday, June 30, the force said the man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for theft, vehicle interference and theft from a vehicle.

Various items were reportedly seized from the man including tools, clothing contained in a bag, a toasty machine and a telescopic car wash brush, the statement added.

The man has been released under investigation pending further inquiries by police.
