Police hunt for taxi driver who demanded girl, nine, get in his car and threatened he would ‘would come back to get her’

The incident is reported to have taken place on Rievaulx Avenue in Billingham, Monday, February 8, at 10am, while the little girl was playing in the street.
A black taxi pulled is said to have up by the child and the driver demanded that she get into the car.

Hide AdHe then asked the girl questions, including where she went to school, and then stated that he ‘would come back to get her’.
The driver of the vehicle has been described as being an Asian man and is described as having a “fat face and glasses”.
The man left the scene after another child intervened and the incident was reported to police.
Police are warning members of the public to be vigilant following the incident and officers have increased patrols in the area in a bid to trace the person responsible.
