Police want to trace a couple after a “suspicious incident” in which a mystery motorist spoke to a young boy.

Cleveland Police say the driver spoke to a child in Neasham Avenue, Billingham, at around 3.30pm on Friday, March 19.

A force spokesperson added: “The incident happened when a dark blue coloured BMW estate 3 series, which had blacked out windows at the back, stopped on Neasham Avenue and the driver spoke to a young boy.

“The driver is described by the boy as an Asian male and there was a female passenger in the vehicle, who is described as wearing a head scarf and either Asian or Indian.

“The vehicle then made off in the direction of Tunstall Avenue.

“Officers want to reassure the local community that this is an isolated incident.”
