Suspected arson attack in Hartlepool street as BMW set on fire outside home

An arson investigation has been launched by police officers in Hartlepool after a BMW was deliberately set on fire outside a property in the town.

Officers were called to Westbrooke Grove on Tuesday, April 14 at around 8.50pm following reports that a blue BMW had been set alight on the driveway of a home in the street.

The blaze caused "significant” damage to both the vehicle and the property it was outside of, as well as a neighbouring property and vehicle in Westbrooke Grove.

In an appeal launched in the aftermath of the fire, Cleveland Police is calling for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident – or anyone who may have private CCTV or dashcam footage – to come forward and assist in the investigation.
