Suspected robber due in court after knifepoint incident at Hartlepool shop

A 33-year-old man has been charged with robbery after a knifepoint incident at a Hartlepool shop.

The man, who also faces a charge of possession of a bladed article in a public place, was arrested in Northamptonshire on Sunday, April 26 and will appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court today – Monday, April 27.

He was interviewed by Hartlepool CID on arrest and subsequently charged in relation to an alleged knifepoint robbery at a shop on Brenda Road on Friday, April 17.

Inquiries are ongoing.
