Teenager arrested after boy, 17, stabbed near Hartlepool Train Station

A teenager has been arrested after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed near to Hartlepool Train Station.

A large group of youths reportedly made off from the scene.

The boy was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment injuries which are believed to not be life-threatening.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding and he currently remains in police custody.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have footage which could assist their investigation to contact them.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to a report of a 17-year-old boy with a stab wound near the bus station near the car park at Hartlepool Train Station at around 5pm yesterday evening, Wednesday, February 19.

“A large group of youths reportedly made off from the scene.

“The boy was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

“A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of sec 18 wounding and he currently remains in police custody.”
