Teenager arrested in Hartlepool as police seize uninsured motorbike

A teenager was arrested after police stopped an uninsured motorbike in Hartlepool.

Officers from Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team stopped a motorbike in in the Burn Valley area of town while attending a report of young people damaging garages in the area.

One teenage boy was arrested and released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police have said that the motorbike is uninsured, unregistered and will be destroyed.

The incident happened on Monday, July 12.

A statement on Tuesday read: “Hartlepool neighbourhood officers stopped this motorbike in the Burn Valley area yesterday and it will be destroyed after being found to be uninsured and unregistered.

“Police were already in the area in response to a recent spate of antisocial behaviour and criminal damage, with officers attending a report of young people damaging garages.

“One teenage boy was arrested and released under investigation while inquiries continue.
