Teenager beaten until he passes out in Hartlepool sand dunes robbery

An attack victim was beaten unconscious when he and a second teenager were robbed after they were surrounded by a gang of 10 males.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Tuesday, March 30, on the sand dunes next to Seaton Carew car park.

Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were approached by 10 unknown males, Cleveland Police have revealed.

The teens were asked for a cigarette before one of them was punched and kicked – causing him to lose consciousness.

The other boy was then punched and their bags were taken.

The victims have described the males as wearing tracksuits and aged in their late teens to early 20s.

Police say it is possible that they were travelling in a black Vauxhall Astra car.

The force are appealing for information and have urged anyone with details about the robbery to contact PC Lee on 101, quoting incident number 049681.
