A teenager who was caught with an air rifle and suspected class B and class C drugs in Hartlepool has been arrested.

A teenager has been arrested after police caught him with an air rifle and suspected class B and class C drugs in Hartlepool.

The 18-year-old male was stopped after officers from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit (CDSOU) spotted him in possession of what they believed to be a firearm at around 5:35pm yesterday, Monday 15th February, on Owton Manor Lane.

Police located an air rifle, and upon searching him they found suspected class B and C drugs, believed to be cannabis and temazepam tablets.

The teenager was arrested on suspicion of possession of an air weapon in a public place, possession of class B drugs and possession with intent to supply class C drugs.

He was later released under investigation, while enquiries continue.
