Thieves steal 11 cars in raid on Hartlepool's Tones dealership

Police in Hartlepool are investigating after 11 cars were reported stolen from a car dealership in the early hours of Sunday, May 17.

Cleveland Police received reports of a break-in at Tones garage on Oxford Road at around 5am, but say the incident may have happened any time after midnight.

One of the cars, a Jaguar, has since been recovered from the Newholme estate near Wingate. Officers investigating believe the other vehicles may have been driven out of the area.

Two further vehicles were recovered this morning, and officers have now confirmed a total of eight vehicles have been traced.

Three vehicles remain outstanding: PN14FMZ - VW Touareg White, KS67JVH - Mercedes E220 Black, and a NL15LPK - Mercedes C200 Silver.

DC Holly Angus said: “This is a report of a significant theft of vehicles worth thousands of pounds. We would appeal to anyone who has any information, including dashcam or CCTV, to contact us on 101, with the reference 078865.”
