Inspector Adrian Dack, of Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing, said: “We’ve listened to the concerns of residents of the village and will continue to carry out checks like this to ensure that drivers are adhering to speed limits.

“I urge drivers across the town to please drive safely and within specified speed limits on our roads.

"Speed restrictions are in place in residential areas to ensure that pedestrians are safe, which is why limits are lowered around schools and villages.”
