Three arrested after reports of men trying car doors overnight in Hartlepool

Three suspects are in custody after police were alerted to overnight reports that men were tampering with vehicle door handles.

They are being questioned by Cleveland Police on suspicion of vehicle interference after officers were called to Dalton Piercy, near Hartlepool, on Friday, November 27, at about 1am.

A spokeswoman for the force said later the same morning: “Three men were arrested in the early hours of this morning after suspicious activity was reported in the Dalton Piercy area of Hartlepool.

“Officers received a report around 1am this morning that males were trying the door handles of vehicles in the village.

“Police attended the scene and arrested three males, aged 21, 22 and 24, on suspicion of vehicle interference.

“All three males remain in police custody at this time.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident number 193968.
