Three arrests after 'altercation' in Hartlepool street leaves man with head injury

Three men are in the custody of Cleveland Police after an “alteraction” in a Hartlepool street led to someone being taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called to Sheriff Street, Hartlepool, at around 6.35pm on Thursday, September 10 to reports of an altercation.

A 33-year-old man suffered a head injury in the incident, and was taken to James Cook University Hospital by the North East Ambulance Service.

His condition is not believe to be life-threatening, police said.

A force spokeswoman added in a statement on Friday, September 11: “Three males, aged 33, 35 and 47 have been arrested in connection with the incident and they remain in police custody at this time.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Hartlepool CID on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 148453.”

Officers remained at the scene until later on Thursday, with a cordon in place near a property.
