Three arrests after Hartlepool police recover machete and suspected drugs in raid

Three people have been arrested after a machete blade and suspected class A drugs were recovered from a house following a police raid.

A drugs warrant was carried out at a property in Fieldfare Road, off Throston Grange Lane, Hartlepool, on Friday, May 1, following concerns raised by the public.

Cleveland Police say suspected class A drugs were recovered from the property alongside weapons including a knife and machete.

A man aged 32 and two women aged 59 and 27 were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

All have now been released under investigation while further inquiries continue.

Officers have urged members of the public to continue getting in touch with them about suspected criminal activities in their area.

PC Geoff Coggin, from Hartlepool Community Safety Team, said following the arrests: “This activity is a result of the local community getting in touch with us about their concerns.”

Speaking about the police’s response in general to public concerns, he added: “We will not tolerate residents in our local communities being made miserable by the criminal and antisocial actions of others.

“Please continue to report any concerns and Hartlepool Community Safety Team will take action.”
