Two arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after man is knocked down on Hartlepool street

Cleveland Police was called to an area close to Romaine Park at 7.30pm yesterday, Saturday, July 11, following the collision.
The incident left a 29-year-old man with serious injuries, with the North East Ambulance Service called to take him to hospital.

Hide AdIn the aftermath of the crash, officers taped off a grassed area off West View Road, next to The Fire Place takeaway and The Central club, as well as the lane which runs down the back of the buildings.
Police remained on the scene through the night and the area is still cordoned off as inquiries continue by detectives, with an appeal issued as they look to trace witnesses to the crash.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police were called to reports at 7.30pm last night that a man had been hit by a car near to Romaine Park in Hartlepool.
"The 29-year-old man received serious leg injuries and minor chest injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
