Two arrests after man reported to have weapon in Hartlepool street

Police were called to a Hartlepool street following reports of a man with a weapon.

Officers attended Straker Street at around 12pm on Wednesday, August 12.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a weapon in a public place and another man, aged 38, was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.

A spokeswoman for the force confirmed that both men currently remain in custody.

She added: “Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 131083.”
