Two Hartlepool men in court over drugs and damage as part of crime crackdown to tackle serious offences

Two men have been charged as part of an ongoing campaign which sees police support those most in need of help and tackle violence.

Operation Phoenix was first launched by Cleveland Police during the summer and has since been extended, driving efforts to improve public service, prioritise vulnerability, root out serious incidents of violence and prevent offences.

As part of the project, two Hartlepool men wanted on magistrates’ warrants for separate alleged offences were arrested yesterday, Thursday, October 15.

The first, 44-year-old John Paul Mincher, was arrested yesterday morning and appeared at Cleveland Remand Court in connection with alleged drugs offences.

The other is a 34-year-old Anthony Orley, who was also wanted in relation to an allegation of criminal damage.

He was arrested at lunchtime and appeared before the same court that afternoon.

A force spokesperson said: “We're continuing to locate and arrest wanted people on a daily basis - including people suspected of the most serious and violent crimes.”
