Two men have been charged after more than £1m of cannabis was discovered during police raids.

Three suspects were initially arrested after the multi-agency operation in Hartlepool.

The drugs were seized as part of Cleveland Police’s Operation Resolve, which saw members of Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team working with the National Crime Agency, North East Regional Organised Crime Unit, the Health and Safety Executive and Cleveland Specialist Operations Unit.

One farm, located at an address in Victoria Road, is estimated to be worth more than £1million while the other, which was found at a property in Dent Street, is estimated to be worth up to £67,000.

Two men, aged 32 and 46 have been charged with production of a controlled class B drug.

A 70-year-old man has been released under investigation whilst inquiries continue.
