Two quizzed after man is found with serious head injuries as police seal off Hartlepool street

Two men are being questioned after a man was found with serious head injuries in Hartlepool.

The man was found at an address in Catcote Road on Saturday night. He is still in hospital, where his condition is described by police as ‘critical but stable.’

Cleveland Police said its officers were continuing to question two men in their 30s about the incident.

Several police vehicles have been present and both uniformed officers and scenes of crime officers in white overalls and wearing face masks have been at work.

Two men have been arrested.

Now detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson confirmed there had been two arrests after a call last night: “Two men, age 30 and 31, are currently being questioned by police after officers were called to a report of suspicious circumstances in a premises on Catcote Road,Hartlepool at around 7.15pm last night, Saturday 16th November.

“On officers’ arrival they discovered a man who had suffered serious head injuries.

“He was taken to hospital by ambulance and remains in a critical but stable condition.

“Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number quoting Event 196996.
