Two teenagers arrested after incident at Hartlepool farm as off-road bikes seized

Teenage boys have been arrested in relation to an incident at a Hartlepool farm, after being located by a police helicopter.

Cleveland Police seized two off-road motorbikes and a quad bike following reports that a ‘large group of youths’ were riding round a farmer’s fields on the outskirts of the down without permission.

The force said damage had also been caused to an agricultural vehicle there.

A statement continued: “With support from National Police Air Support colleague, officers located and spoke to a number of young people and two were arrested.

“Inquiries into the alleged incident are ongoing.”

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Wednesday, August 5. The arrested boys are aged 13 and 14.

Cleveland Police added: “We would remind anyone who owns off road bikes, quad bikes or other motorcycles they are not allowed to ride on private land without the express permission of the landowner or tenant.”
