Two thugs admitted daylight robbery of equipment from a worker at a roadworks site in Hartlepool

Two men robbed a roadworks worker in daylight before making off with of one of his power tools.

One of the robbers was on a bike and the other on foot when they turned up at the site in Hartlepool.

The pair, who stole a valuable Stihl saw, will be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court next Monday, January 27.

Court papers did not give a value for the saw.

Liam Gascoigne, 29, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty over a videolink from Durham Jail to the robbery on October 29.

David Herbert, 22, of Allerton Court, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to the charge previously and he is also remanded in custody.

Gascoigne was further remanded in custody by Judge Stephen Ashurst at Teesside Crown Court who told him that they would be sentenced together by the same judge on Monday, January 27.
