A two-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car near to a Hartlepool primary school.

The incident took place near to Grange Primary School between 8am and 8.30am on Friday, December 4.

The boy suffered a cut to the forehead and was taken to hospital as a precaution, but has since been treated and released.

Cleveland Police are now appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the force to get in touch.

The force is also asking for any drivers who were in the area to check their dash cam footage.
