Van driver fined after crash on Hartlepool road

A van driver has been given a fine by police after a collision with a car at a junction in Hartlepool town centre.

Cleveland Police officers were called to Park Road in the town yesterday evening, Sunday, January 10, following calls to the emergency services about the crash.

The car was recovered from the scene following damage caused in the impact in the collision.

Inquiries by officers led to the driver of the van being given a fine for a motoring offence.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police attended a report of a two vehicle collision on Park Road near its junction with York Road, the B1277, just before 5.15pm yesterday.

“A red Ford Focus and a white Ford Transit van had collided.

"There were no serious injuries and the Focus was recovered.

"The male driver of the van was issued with a ticket for driving without due care.”
