Victim left with head wound after robbery in Hartlepool street

A 63-year-old man received hospital treatment for a head wound after being robbed in a Hartlepool street.

Cleveland Police has launched an appeal for information following the incident, which took place in Surtees Street/Tower Street in Hartlepool.

The victim was reportedly struck over the head and had money and a watch – silver, with a dark blue face – stolen from him.

Following the robbery, the 63-year-old injured man attended University Hospital of North Tees. He received treatment there for a head wound.

This happened between 3am and 4am on Tuesday, July 21.

A statement from the force, released on Thursday, August 6, said: “Anyone who information is asked to contact Detective Constable Dave Angel from Hartlepool CID on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 118487.”
