Woman arrested after items are stolen from Hartlepool gardens

Cleveland Police have received 27 reports of thefts from gardens in Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland over the last two weeks.

Fencing, garden furniture, planters, solar lights, artificial turf and garden ornaments are among the items reported as stolen.

It is believed the thefts have taken place overnight between 6pm and 3am.

Police are warning members of the public to be vigilant following the thefts and are providing crime prevention advice.

Another woman, 40 and man, 30, were also arrested in connection with a theft from a garden in Middlesbrough. Officers will continue to patrol the hot-spot areas affected.
