Pools ran out 1-0 victors over their National League rivals at Victoria Park back in September.

But Harrison admits the Daggers, nine points above his side in the table, have been the best team Pools have faced since the start of the National League season.

“I think they are the best team we have played this season,” said the manager whose side travel to the Chigwell Construction Stadium tomorrow (3pm kick-off).

“At our place they were the best team we have played, although we won 1-0.

“They have got pace, can be direct, can play, they’ve got four or five very good strikers who are in form.

“It is going to be a tough game but they are not in great form either.

“We have done our homework. We are working on plans to beat them, both on the training pitch and with video analysis.”

Jonathan Franks was Pools hero against John Still’s side earlier this season, when he netted a 75th minute winner to inflict the Daggers first defeat of the campaign.

Can Pools take anything from that win? Harrison certainly thinks so.

“You do try to take things from the win,” he said.

“We didn’t play well. We were battered. There have been games where we have been better and not won.

“This league is so up and down.

“I know for a fact two or three Championship clubs are looking at two or three of their strikers.

“That’s how good they can be but they have lacked consistency, just like us. That’s why Macclesfield are at the top - they have consistency.”
