Tickets were going fast for the Staincliffe Hotel event in Seaton Carew on Saturday, February 27, starting at 1pm.

Ian Young, a self-employed wagon driver, uses all his spare time to raise funds. His next venture is the charity night supported by organisations including Hartlepool Scooter Club, Hartlepool Monkey Hangers Scooter Club, the Vespa Club of Britain 230 Hartlepool, Stray Cats Scooter Club, A19s Scooter Club Cleveland, North Easts Wasps SC and The Vespa Club of Britain 202 Woolybacks.

Ian is a member of the A19s club which sponsored the event. He then approached the other clubs who also agreed to get involved. He said: “We were expecting it to be a sellout in the last week.”

Ian is raising money for Gretton Court, which is a purpose-built nursing home for elderly people and specialises in caring for people with dementia.

T-shirts for £10 and wristbands for £1 will be sold at the event. Ian would love to hear from anyone who can donate prizes for a raffle.
