Drinks are set to flow at Hartlepool Rugby Club' charity beer festival

Beer and music lovers will once again descend upon Mayfield Park in Hartlepool for Hartlepool Rugby Club’s third annual Hootenanny & Beer Festival, in partnership with the town’s Alice House Hospice.

The event will take place on Sunday, August 27, from 2pm until late and there will be a selection of 15 beers available and 5 ciders, an increase on last year.

Music headliners will be Kings Contraband, with Chris Donoghue and DJ Fake Charles, with more acts set to be confirmed.

The festival raises money for Alice House Hospice, which ensures people affected by life limiting illness or the death of a loved one have the care, comfort and support they need.

Tickets, available from Hartlepool Rugby Club and Alice House Hospice, cost £10 each and include entry to the festival, a souvenir half-pint glass, programme and four beer/cider tokens.

Greg Hildreth, a fundraiser at the hospice, said: “We are grateful to the club members who support us in such a fantastic way and without whom, this great event would not be possible.

“All of the money raised will be used to fund patient care in Hartlepool and East Durham.

“I’m sure we’ll have another full house this year and would like to extend thanks on behalf of the hospice to everyone who contributes to the success of this event.”
