Driver in hospital with broken collarbone after two-car crash on A19

A motorist is receiving treatment in hospital for a broken collarbone after being involved in a collison on the A19.

The incident happened on the southbound carriageway of the road, near to Low Burntoft Farm, Wolviston, at around 7pm on Wednesday, July 29.

A gold Vauxhall Meriva and grey Audi A4 were involved in the collision.

The driver of the Meriva, a man in his 60s, suffered a broken collarbone and was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees.

He remains in hospital whilst receiving treatment.

The driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries and a female passenger, in her 30s, broke her ankle.

She was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees and later released.

Cleveland Police released an appeal for witnesses on Thursday, July 30.
