Emergency repairs lead to power cut for more than 100 Hartlepool properties

Power has been turned off to more than 100 properties in Hartlepool this evening to allow repairs to be carried out safely.

Northern Powergrid, which manages the power network, has said it became aware of the issues at around 6.30pm today, Wednesday, January 20, and aims to have the supply restored to the 110 premises by 8.30pm.

It has said 110 premises have been affected in the TS25 postcode, which covers an area off Belle Vue Road and the Oxford Road and Burn Road areas.

A spokesperson for the service told customers: “Our team are working hard to restore your power as quickly as possible.

"We've had to switch off the power for safety purposes whilst our engineers work on the cables and equipment that serves your area.

"We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
