Entitled to respect

What an excellent letter from T Wilson (Mail, January 16).

He has clearly grasped how the legal establishment’s human rights lobby poses a danger to our armed forces.

These are the ones who have brought cases against past serving servicemen.

All were thrown out but caused great distress.

Not one of these lawyers, I would venture, has ever put their hide on the line in service to Queen and country.

These acts of sacrifice are performed on our behalf by brave young men and women.

What these brave people are entitled to is respect and protection from those who send them to war and from those who they protect in so doing – you and me.

What they do not deserve is what I consider to be legalised persecution.
