“I’ve called it TM8trainlikeapro, but it’s about young people getting good exercise,” said the 38-year-old, who works as assistant boss at National League North side, Spennymoor.

“I’m already working at a couple of schools, Holy Trinity in Seaton Carew and William Cassidy in Stockton.

“It’s about getting the kids out doing fitness work and exercise.

“Yes, I’m a football coach but it’s not just football, I know there are kids who don’t like footy. It’s all about getting them active, keeping our young people fit.

“I enjoy it, it’s great to have the opportunity to pass on the knowledge I’ve picked up over the years and help kids enjoy exercise and sport.

“I know there are a lot out there [coaches], some good, some not-so-good.

“I’m busy as assistant boss at Spennymoor and that’s going well, but this is something I wanted to do.

“I’ve enjoyed my career but I wanted to give something back. I love Hartlepool, it’s a town I have a lot of affinity, not just football-wise.

“I enjoyed my time at Pools and they helped me make the career I had.

“I do an after-school club at Holy Trinity but would love to do take on other schools in Hartlepool.

“Any schools that are interested I am happy to do a free taster session to see if that’s what they’d like to do.”
