Firefighters called to blaze at derelict Hartlepool building for second time in a week

An investigation is ongoing after firefighters tackled a second blaze at a derelict building in Hartlepool the space of a week.

Crews were called to a building known as the Old Farm House, on Owton Manor Lane, at around 12.22am on Friday, January 15.Three engines from Hartlepool and Billingham used hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control before leaving the scene at 2.13am.

The fire caused severe damage to the ground floor and first floor.

The incident comes just days after crews attended a fire at the same building which sparked an investigation into its cause.

Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed that this latest incident will also be investigated as part of the ongoing inquiry.
