Firefighters deal with 200 bin blaze inside Billingham building

Firefighters tackled a blaze involving 200 wheelie bins being stored inside a Billingham building.

Crews were called to Leehome Road in the Low Grange area shortly before 6.30pm yesterday, Tuesday, October 20.

Cleveland Fire Brigade sent three engines, from Billingham and Stockton stations, to the scene and two hose jets were used to damp down a building, which spanned 80 metres by 20 metres.

The fire was prevented from spreading but there was slight fire damage to a neighbouring building.

The incident concluded shortly after 7.30pm.
