The ex-Middlesbrough boss has signed club shirts to be auctioned on Friday, March 18, for Billingham Town Juniors Football Club at the fundraising night at The Swan in Billingham.

The night will include a variety show, headlined by veteran TV comedian Stan Boardman, famous for his ‘Gerrrmans’ jokes.

The Chester-le-Street-born former Manchester United great said: “I love to see young footballers in good surroundings, and I hear nothing but great things about the set-up at Billingham Juniors.

“I know raising funds is one of the most important things in keeping going so many teams within such a sizeable club, and I hope they raise a good sum to help them to keep growing as a club.

“I hope parents will rally and make March 18th a very memorable event in the club’s calendar.

Billingham Juniors Chairman Lee Shackelton said: “We are delighted that such a well-respected football player and manager has given us his support.
