A fresh appeal has been launched for missing Hartlepool man Scott Fletcher as search continues five years on.

Tomorrow, will mark five years since Scott Fletcher was last seen near to the Jet garage on the A2181 at Wheatley Hill in Durham.

Police are still carrying out investigations into his disappearance and are issuing a fresh appeal for help to try and find him.

Scott was last seen at the garage at around 8.20pm.

Since his disappearance seven men have been arrested on suspicion of murder earlier this year and they remain on police bail pending further inquiries.

Detective Superintendent Jon Green said: “Tomorrow marks the fifth anniversary of Scott’s disappearance and his family are still struggling to come to terms with what’s

happened.

“We want to be able to end this nightmare for them and provide some answers. The last reported sighting of him was in Wheatley Hill in Durham, but we’re still continuing to appeal to anyone with information, however insignificant they may feel that information to be, to contact police.

“I believe we are making progress and would again ask anyone with information which could help to contact police."
