Girls score with travel firm sponsorship deal

The Easington Colliery AFC under-11 girls’ team is being sponsored by the Peterlee office of Hays Travel .

The branch decided to sponsor the girls by giving them a full new training kit, The team is the first girls team from Easington Colliery, and was formed in September.

They have just finished their first season in the Russell Foster League.

A branch spokesman said: “The reason we chose this team to sponsor is due to them being the first girls team in our local area and we felt giving them a full training kit would make these girls have a professional touch.

“The girls all love the strip and now when attending training sessions feel and look more like a professional team.

“The girls train very hard and this clearly shows through their latest match statistics from their first season.

“We wish them all the best for their next season.”
