The Hartlepool Art Club 68th display is being held at Hartlepool Art Gallery, in Christ Church in Church Square.

It’s been a record-breaker, with a record number of works entered and impressive numbers of people visiting the exhibition.

Club president Margaret Wiles said 8,290 people had viewed the display since it opened and there was still time for more to do the same.

Those interested have until January 16 to view the art on show and the gallery is open from Tuesday to Saturday, between 10 and 5pm. Entry is free.

Margaret added: “There is a tremendous variety of work from the traditional to modern techniques and styles.”

A big year lies ahead for the art club as it gets ready to celebrate a special anniversary.

Margaret added: “We are moving into our 70th year and going from strength to strength with a record number of members included in our Dabble in Art section which is for the artists of tomorrow.”
