The RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch will be held on January 30 and January 31. It provides valuable information about the changes in numbers of birds using gardens in winter.

More than half a million people across the UK are expected to take part this year and RSPB Saltholme’s staff and volunteers - at the reserve on the Seaton Carew Road - can share tips on how to make your own Big Garden Birdwatch a success.

Daniel Hayhow, RSPB Conservation Scientist, said: “With over half a million people now regularly taking part, coupled with over 30 years worth of data, Big Garden Birdwatch allows us to monitor trends and helps us understand how birds are doing.”
