Hartlepool firm is recruiting - for superheroes and princesses

Ten extra staff are needed at As You Wish Events, which is based at the Brougham Enterprise Centre, and has flourished since only starting up last year.

Creative director Jessica Harrison, 21, runs the business in partnership with Natalie Robinson, 23.

And Jessica told how it has been a year of success with hopefully more on the way.

“We are a local business that started only last year specialising in children’s princesses and superheroes for birthday parties and corporate events.

“We knew that if we were starting our own business we wanted it to be of a high quality with believable characters and costumes. All of our characters perform and have all had experience in acting/musical theatre training.”

Twenty people are on the books so far but As You Wish is recruiting to try and take the numbers up to 30.

Jessica said: “We would like to have an extra 10 and we will be recruiting them up to the middle of September.

“We offer fairytale characters such as The Wizard Of Oz, Mary Poppins, Alice In Wonderland etc. Our Showgirls, Unicorns and The Greatest Showman Cast are our latest additions.

“We are proud to say we have managed to work our self up to being a 5* company rated on our Facebook page.”

People with previous experience can apply for the part-time roles.

As You Wish Events has a Princess and Superhero Academy which has proved popular at children’s parties. Previous appointments have been held at venues throughout the North East including in the County Durham and Newcastle areas with great success.

Jessica said the firm’s ‘best sellers’ were the As You Wish balls where up to nine princesses would be there.
