The Mail understands the contract will not create new jobs, but is being seen as an important contributor to keeping the factory busy this year.

All of the new project will be carried out at JDR’s Greenland Road site in Hartlepool.

The latest win comes just a month after the Mail told how JDR had a five-year strategy, which included expanding its capacity in Hartlepool.

JDR has taken up the option of a third building at its site on Hartlepool’s dockland.

Chief executive David Currie said: “This is a very exciting win for JDR and we are proud to partner with Marathon Oil on this prestigious contract.”
