No charges were put to him, but an earlier hearing was told he faces five allegations of forging prescriptions.

John Elvidge QC, defending, told the court more legal work needed to be done before the defence case could proceed.

Nigel Soppitt, prosecuting, said a further statement would need to be taken from a prosecution expert witness.

The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Simon Bourne-Arton, adjourned the case for a further pre-trial hearing on a date to be fixed.

No date was set for the trial, but the court heard it is likely to take place in July.

Andelic, 55, of Coniscliffe Road, Hartlepool, was released on unconditional bail.
